Local GA Festivals in April

April is the start of festival season in Georgia. There are many festivals around the state with lots centered in and around Atlanta. Here are some festivals to enjoy with family or friends or as a date day or night.

Writers Festival April 5 - 6

Hear distinguished authors read at the Writers' Festival at Agnes Scott College in Decatur. Free.

SPRING FESTIVAL ON PONCE April 7-8

Spring Festival on Ponce features fine arts and crafts, folk art, a children's area, local food, and acoustic music in historic Olmsted Linear Park

Food Trucks at the park April 7

Shop from 30 food trucks selling full portions and small plates at Food-o-Rama, with live music onstage, craft beer, vendors, and a kids' zone in Old Fourth Ward Park. Free admission.

Atlanta Spring Wine Festival April 14

Sample 100 wines with beer, cider, live music, and food for sale at Atlanta Spring Wine Festival at Historic Fourth Ward Park for age 21+

Atlanta Film Festival April 13-22

The Atlanta Film Festival is one of the region's largest and longest-running preeminent celebrations of cinema in the Southeastern United States. More than 25,000 festival attendees enjoy independent, animated, documentary, and short films each year.

Atlanta Dogwood  April 13-15

The Dogwood Festival has evolved into one of the largest events in the Southeast. You'll find the country's best painters, sculptors, photographers, jewelry makers and glass blowers, as well as live performance art exhibitions, interactive music workshops and a food festival.

Art & Hot-air Balloon Festival April 14 - 15

The Perry Dogwood Festival features arts & crafts vendors, dog costume & retrieving contests, and entertainment in downtown Perry; plus a Saturday evening Hot Air Balloon Rally with rides, balloon glow, and music at the Georgia National Fairgrounds.

Grilled Cheese Festival April 14 - 15, 2018 (12 to 6 p.m.)

Pay an entry fee plus $1 to $3 for samples from competing restaurants, and then vote for your favorites at Atlanta Grilled Cheese Festival, with "food trucks, brews, live local music, and all kinds of contests and activities" at Brookhaven Park for age 21+

Dunwoody Festival April 18 - 22

Lemonade Days features carnival rides, live music, arts & crafts starting Fri., a beer & wine garden Sat., and a petting zoo on the weekend at Brook Run Park. No pets.

Georgia Renaissance Festival 14- June 3

Join hundreds of colorfully-clad characters for a medieval European Country Faire. Feast on hearty food and drink, shop for hand-crafted treasures and become mesmerized by artisans at work. 

Inman Park Festival  April 27-29

Inman Park Festival boasts a weekend of family fun. Atlanta's biggest street market, the city's quirkiest parade, art show, live entertainment and dance festival and more.

Clarkston Festival April 28

Clarkston Culture Fest includes a free 1-mile kids' run at 10 a.m., a cultural village, local musicians, vendors, and a kids' zone.

Motorama April 28 - 29, 2018

Motorama includes classic vehicles, hot rods, monster trucks, car crushing, lawn-mower racing, vendors and more at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
